Genesis 23
Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old (Gen. 23:1 KJV)
Sarah died .. in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came..to weep for her (Gen. 23:2 KJV)
Abraham .. spoke unto the sons of Heth, saying (Gen. 23:3 KJV)
I am a stranger..give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead (Gen. 23:4 KJV)
And the children of Heth answered Abraham (Gen. 23:5 KJV)
you are a mighty prince among us; bury your dead in the choicest of our graves
Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to .. the children of Heth (Gen. 23:7 KJV)
saying, "If it is your wish for me to bury my dead .. approach Ephron the son of Zohar for me
that he may give me the cave of Machpelah which he owns, which is at the end of his field
Ephron was sitting among the sons of Heth; .., saying (Gen. 23:10 KJV)
No, my lord, hear me; I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it.
And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land (Gen. 23:12 KJV)
And he spoke to Ephron .. saying, .. I will give the price of the field, accept it from me, that I may bury my dead there.
And Ephron answered Abraham, saying (Gen. 23:14 KJV)
a piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver, what is that between me and you? So bury your dead
And Abraham .. weighed out .. four hundred shekels of silver, commercial standard.
And the field of Ephron, which was in Machpelah (Gen. 23:17 KJV)
to Abraham for a possession
And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah (Gen. 23:19 KJV)
And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession (Gen. 23:20 KJV)
